My name is Natalie Leininger and I am a junior focusing most of my time on oil paintings. I have always been fond of exploring natural forms, specifically those in nature. So many things are constantly changing in the world around us and I like to take those small changes and make paintings that explore how things coexist, migrate, and form. Most recently I have been working on a series of candle paintings that allow for a reinvention of imagery, form, and time. My depiction of a weeping willow is similar in that it allows for the act of weeping and the act of beauty to coexist together, intertwined. I don’t strive for photo realism, but I like to blend a fine line of illustrative qualities with intense detail.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my work, it means a great deal to me.
