The Oxford Dictionary defines propaganda as “ information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.” The most common representation of Propaganda is seen as call-to-action posters from World War 2.

This exhibit is here to show that there’s more to Propaganda then just some posters, my goal with this capstone is to explain better and share what propaganda is
rather than let the stereotype live on as a catch 22 for what propaganda is.

The first portion of my capstone focuses on taking familiar propaganda and giving it a pop culture twist to bring it to modern audiences. The use of meme culture was picked due to its relevance in modern society as it acts as a new form of both storytelling and it is the spreading of ideas. As memes are able to mutate as they are sent and forwarded, so I decided to push this idea further and brought a fun subject into the realm of propaganda.
