Stamps
Written communication has helped us record history throughout the years. As we move towards an ever more dominant digital age, we should continue to promote and use non digital communication because of its ability to record history and evoke sentimental value.
The bulk of my project contains 15 different stamps. These may just look like pretty presentation pieces, however, they all contain a hidden meaning. Each stamp symbolizes a famous letter from some point in history. These letters were written throughout the course of hundreds of years. Many of these letters, specifically the ones written before technology was around, recorded information we would not have known about unless somebody had taken the time to write it down.
My hope with this display is to inspire you to write a letter to a grandma in another state or a friend in another country. Whether it be a quick note saying ‘hello,’ or a long letter with an entire life update, stepping away from the computer will always be worth it.
