The Creative Mindfulness Workbook

The Creative Mindfulness Workbook aims to serve as a tool for young adults to engage with mindfulness techniques and habits through artistic expression. In today’s culture, it is important that adults have the resources available to maintain a healthy mental state. However, it can be difficult or awkward for some people to engage with more traditional therapeutic techniques, like journaling or communicating with a therapist. Additional stigmas surrounding mental health can also make other methods of mindfulness seem less appealing. The goal of this workbook is to provide an alternative method for people to explore their emotions and thoughts in a judgment-free and relaxing space.
.
Art therapy as a psychological practice emerged in the twentieth century and was primarily utilized with young children, where their art was examined by psychologists to understand how they might be feeling without requiring the children to verbally articulate their emotions. However, more recent scientific studies have shown that simply engaging with the creative parts of your mind can have a positive effect on mental health across all age ranges. Adults can struggle with finding ways to engage with creativity as they age, so this book also provides a space for people to engage with creativity in their everyday lives.
