Abby Halsey

My work mostly consists of human figures whether that is in color or black and white. The first image shown was my first painting. This work has taught me to have a grasp on the greyscale and a good feel for creating realistic works. The second is my proudest work I have done so far and I spent over 30 hours perfecting everything. The third painting is where I began to experiment more with black and white and I am incredibly thrilled with how this piece came out and it is also one of my favorites I have ever done. It depicts a side profile view of the statue of David. Branching off of my Fallen Angel master copy painting, I continued with the theme of angels, so this led to me creating my fourth painting shown. Here I depicted Icarus falling from the sun and titled this, “Wings of Arrogance.” My final painting is my most recent and explores a combination of different art eras including Renaissance, Dutch, and Rococo periods.
