Celia Taylor
I often find painting to be creating a one-way mirror: I see into every aspect of the
image, but the image cannot see me in return. My paintings tap into my ever-changing ebb
and flow of emotions and generate a entirely new reflection that can’t exist outside of the
bounds of its own surface. My color palette is saturated and bold, drawing from feelings of
intensity I find in every place I look. I paint very small and very intimate, my images
contained in themselves but never without vital ties to me, their creator.
