This capstone investigates the relationship between art, food, and the act of making, exploring how creative practices function as expressions of care, connection, and shared experience. This project translates personal and cultural moments of making into visual and physical forms that allow audiences to experience the emotional and communal value behind artistic and culinary practices firsthand. Through the abstract immersion of painting, baking, cooking, and teaching, viewers will be able to recognize how creative work and food traditions build relationships, preserve memory, and strengthen community bonds.

The objective of this research is to identify the ways that acts of making, such as painting, preparing meals, sharing ingreidients, and gathering for family or social traditions, create meaningful connections between individuals and their environments. By examining how food culture and art intersect, this project highlights how creativity, craft, and intention transform everyday actions into moments of care and communication. This will challenge the idea that art and food are separate or purely functional practices and instead raise awareness of their shared role in fostering community, memory, intention, and human connection.
