The mixture of something commonly perceived as negative and something commonly perceived as positive doesn’t create something neutral. It creates something more complex, and I think it’s interesting to explore that complexity visually in my prints. Sometimes I explore that idea with a sense of humor, and sometimes I explore it with a sense of horror. I think it’s interesting to see a person’s reaction to a potentially unsettling image; they’re always a little different.
