The Informalities
Being a young African-American male in today’s society is rough sometimes. Some days, you feel like you’re on top of the world, others, you feel like scum on the bottom of a shoe. No matter how you look at it, there’s one thing we can all agree on; that African-Americans are more prone to being racial profiled than any other race in the world.
Using storytelling, I created a comic book that gives people a glimpse of what it’s like being the target of a profiling in today’s modern society. My goal is to create a compelling story that gets people to begin a discussion on how we can empathize and understand why such unfair treatment occurs; Also, to investigate why some law enforcement put such negative stigmas and connotations towards African-Americans.
